What to do

At Låsta you might as well just stay and relax, you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the nature. You are also entitled to pet the animals on the farm.

For people who don't want to leave the grounds, beautiful walks or through the woods are right outside the door.

For people interested in touring the Swedish countryside there are a lot of hiking trials for walking and biking.

As Sweden is called the "land of a thousand lakes" there is no shortage of beaches or water activities. Bikes, canoes as well as fishing equipment can be rented. You can also go horsebackriding.

The little cozy town Mariefred is 17 kilometers from Låstad. Mariefred is a treasure chest of culture. You can visit Gripsholm castle with it's collection of art, and Grafikens hus or the House of graphics, which is a working community of artists, and offers plenty of modern art and sculptures.
You can just stroll around in the town with it's picturesque town center dating back to the 1700 century. Tutcholsky's grave also lies in Mariefred, a much praised and adored author.

It doesn't hurt that Strängnäs is just ten minutes away by car, Strängnäs is one of the 3 most beautiful cities and is full of three star sites. (Michelin guide to Sweden 2004). With one of Swedens 7 cathedrals or the tin soldier museum.

Both towns are at the edge of lake Mälaren witch promise beautiful walks next to the water.

On nearby island Selaön witch for over is Swedens biggest in-land lake island, with a bridge over the sound from Stallarholmen, is Mälsåkers castle a nice castle situated on Mälarens shore. Selaøn holds a bounty of prehistoric sites, like Åsa gravgård.

Åker Styckebruk also is close by, offering fishing, canoeing activities, and by winter lovely cross country skiing and ice-skating.

Only 30 minutes away from Låsta is 8 golf courses, double the distance and you get at least 16. By train or car Låsta is only one hour away from Stockholm, Swedens capitol.
